Professor Nicolas Cullen's research interests are in all aspects of meteorology and climatology, with a focus on understanding how the coldest regions on Earth are responding to climate change. His main contribution has been to use high-quality meteorological and glaciological observations to reduce uncertainties in modelling the atmospheric controls on glacier and ice sheet behaviour.
In the Antarctic Science Platform, Nicolas will support efforts to model the response of glaciers in the McMurdo Dry Valleys (MDV) to climate forcing, with a focus on how meltwater is generated and its importance for ecosystem processes.
