Dr Jonathan Tonkin is a Senior Lecturer and Rutherford Discovery Fellow. He seeks to solve major challenges in ecology in order to better understand and manage ecosystems under global change, including how communities assemble and interact, how species move through their environment, and the mechanisms of multi-scale ecological stability under fluctuating environmental regimes.
In the Antarctic Science Platform, Jono will develop mechanistic models to forecast future terrestrial ecosystem states and dynamics under considerable uncertainty.
