Associate Professor Huw Horgan’s research combines remote sensing and applied geophysical methods to study how glaciers and ice sheets flow. Specific interests include the distribution of water and deformable sediment beneath glaciers and ice sheets, the role that crystal orientation fabric plays in the flow of ice, and processes at the transition from the ice shelf to ice sheet.
In the Antarctic Science Platform, Huw will image within and beneath glaciers and ice sheets to reveal the controls on fast ice-flow.
