Dr Heather Purdie is a Senior Lecturer who specialises in glaciology focussing on the interrelationships between mass balance, dynamics and climate change. She is particularly interested in the exploration of glaciological change over relatively short temporal scales (years to decades) to learn more about contemporary glaciological processes.
In the Antarctic Science Platform, Heather will investigate the interactions and feedbacks associated with rapid glacier recession, to determine the contribution of glacier melt water to the Ross Sea ecosystem.
