Dr Catherine Beltran’s research is focused on the phytoplankton geochemical records, with a focus on applying molecular and isotopic biomarker proxies aimed at understanding the dynamic interactions between the climate and biosphere for various geological intervals on different timescales.
In the Antarctic Science Platform, Catherine will analyse sediment cores and develop age models for sedimentary records to determine past environmental conditions.
